Why We Started

Eleemosy Empowerment and Relief Foundation was born out of a personal journey through Nigeria's education system a journey that revealed its greatest flaw: the lack of practical, hands-on learning.

Education in Nigeria
Hands-on learning

“For us, that's true philanthropy”

Our founder's dream was to study law, but when offered Political Science, He was assured that the degree could lead anywhere. After earning a master's degree and pursuing a PhD, the harsh reality became clear, years of schooling had not provided the practical skills needed to thrive in a changing world. Even the brightest graduates often found themselves gambling, running POS shops, or taking on jobs unrelated to their studies, not because they lack intelligence, but because they lacked the skills to solve real world problems.

This is not just one person's story, it is the story of millions of Nigerian youths caught in an outdated, theory driven education system while the world moves forward.

Our founder has always been passionate about helping people. For years, he gave food to the needy, bags of rice to widows and struggling families. But over time, one hard truth became clear: after the rice finished, life returned to the same struggle. Who would give them money for maggi, oil, or the next meal?

We realized that philanthropy in Nigeria often stops at temporal relief,it eases hunger today but doesn't guarantee hope for tomorrow. That's why we chose a different path. Instead of just giving, we decided to build solutions that last. If you give someone a skill, a trade, or a job, they won't only feed themselves they'll train their children, support their families, and break the cycle of poverty.

“For us, that's true philanthropy”

Eleemosy exists to change that. Our mission is to reform education in Nigeria by integrating practical skills, innovation, and problem solving into learning from an early age. Our long-term vision is to establish schools where children, from as young as 10, are trained to develop solutions, build enterprises, and create jobs and become employers rather than job seekers.

Rooted in the Greek word eleēmosynē (ἐλεημοσύνη), meaning compassion, mercy, and charitable giving, our work also extends to providing relief materials to schools and creating enabling environments where students can truly thrive.

We believe education should not just prepare people for work, it should prepare them for life.
